I like to buy stuff from Cabella’s, b/c they have very high quality, and the nearest store is over 5 hours away from me.

Buying camping gear online may be risky business unless you know what you’re looking for. Your best bet may be to find the items you want in a retail store, get product numbers and prices, then go online to see if you can save money or locate a specific hard-to-find item.
practically everything.
you can always find a better price at an online store.
BUT always do your homework.
i read tons of product reviews and compare prices first. then i go to a store and check out the exact item i want (or a couple that i looked at to compare in person)
then i make my decision and buy online. that may sound excessive, but when you’re out in the woods and you’re counting on your gear, the last thing you want is to think “i should have bought the other one…”
I like to get some of my clothing from Eddie Bauer and I love Cabelas for gear.
I’ve only bought online a few times and only when I couldn’t get what I wanted locally. I find that by the time I pay shipping for a “good price” on line I can get it locally for about the same cost.
