Ok dude, it’s not 1924! Get some fleece, gortex and or down for a coat. Get a 4 season expedition tent, a good cold weather sleeping bag( -15 or lower), ditch the wool blankets. get a good thermal rest mattress and toss those silly snow shoes and get some real ones.
noone that climbs everest uses any of that gear you have chosen,, get a 4 season expedition tent, agood bag, ditch the wool blankets, air matress is handy, 3 pairs of boots? big dummy,stay warm by keeping active.
Looks like u packed for 3 persons there, u dont need all that for 10-12 days, ur gear is also low quality compared to modern gear. If its its going to be so cold that u need that much wool, down is a much better choice
I’ve never seen snowshoes like those before, where are they from?
I’ve found that military clothes can often be found cheaper at second hand and thrift stores than at military surplus stores but you have to visit them more often. Value Village is where I find most of mine. Also the Canadian polypro underwear and fleece is plentyful because it melts in explosive enviroments but is fine for hikers.
@mrsdjsdj Yeah I’ve had a hard time with it too in the parateepee. I think a draft tube is vital to the process, so I’m bringing one. I’m also hoping that the chimney venting directly outside of the tarp tipi will help.
@flir67 Yeah, the short one’s thicker but they’re both plastic. We’re only going in about 15 minutes from the truck. Otherwise I’d use my toboggans.

How come you are not taking your Wiggy’s sleeping bag? I have been considering getting one just for Winter camping.
I have a stove just like that. Used it twice. First time it worked great. Second time, I could not feed it enough oxygen to keep it burning hot, without smoking myself out of my shelter. Take this from someone who does not have much experience with woodstoves. Maybe the wood I was using had something to do with it.

I know you must have been doing a lot of research before setting off. Just please pay a bit more attention than you might otherwise to the weather reports. From the ones we are getting here in the UK the weather in the US is a real bitch right now.

personally when i use a space blanket istead of using it as a blanket i line my shelter with it it makes the entire shelter warm instead of just me
Wool is very good. I am buying more and more wool as I get older, i just love it.
